Welcome

Lucy Hotel operates throughout the year. It is built on the westernmost cape of Kavala, and is one of the city¢s landmarks due to both it¢s location and it¢s architecture.

The hotel is housed in an imposing 8-storey building and has 149 rooms and the following common areas: The central Anatoli restaurants, the a la carte North 40˚ 55"  restaurant, the central Gran Turismo bar, receptions, 3 conference halls (Lydia West, Lydia East, Antisara) and the Orpheas Grand Ballroom events hall. Lucy has all the infrastructure needed in a modern hotel complex and is supported by the know-how of its experienced human resources.

LUCY hotel was the embodiment of the business vision of Giannis Sarantis. After he got involved in tourism and acquired and expanded the Makryammos hotel complex (A¢ class, 206 rooms) in the Makryammos region of Thassos island, he envisioned the creation of LUCY hotel in Kavala. The hotel was constructed by Giannis Sarantis and his son in law, Giorgos Mitzalis, a civil engineer, on the designs of architect Dimitris Athanasiadis. This avant garde and ultra-modern hotel opened on April 1st, 1976. With its 217 rooms and the grand reception areas, it added an unprecedented impetus to the city¢s tourism scene.

For more than two decades, the two hotels were a point of reference for the tourism of the Kavala prefecture and the broader region.

The 1990s left their mark on LUCY hotel: the war in Yugoslavia, which disconnected the road connection of Kavala to Central Europe, and the general decline of the prefecture with the transfer of the main development projects to the neighboring prefectures of Thrace.

In 2006 the company¢s management decided to launch a complete renovation project and upgrade the hotel to 5 stars.

The goal was to transform Lucy hotel into a luxury, modern unit, that provides the easy comfort and functionality of modern 5 star hotels, at the same time retaining is older classical chic glamour.

Gastronomy

Main Restaurant "Anatoli"

For the guests of Lucy Hotel, the day begins at “Anatoli”. The hotel¢s restaurant opens its doors as the sun emerges from the sea, and this daily spectacular sight of dawn is the background for breakfast.

On the other side, the view to and from the interior balcony of the mezzanine is filtered through glass panes, etched with images of blossoming almond trees. The freshness of the space is enhanced by the natural oak and the clarity of the white furniture. Breakfast is served from 7.00 to 10.00 buffet style.

NORTH 40˚ 55"  A la carte

The N 40˚ 55" restaurant is located on the hotel's mezzanine floor. Even though it is an integral part of Lucy, it is independent and is open to the public from Tuesday to Saturday, for lunch and dinner. The N 40˚ 55" is a beacon in the world of Mediterranean flavors and wine tasting. With a view from above to the west and the Kalamitsa bay, the iroco deck of the balcony is ideal for a sea-food meal in the mid-day breeze and for spring evenings.

The menu changes each season. In the winter the glass panes close and separate the warm interior room from the landscape. Columns lined with unpolished limestons, black marble floors, elements of wild wood and mesh light fixtures like jewels compose a space of modest luxury.

Gran Turismo Main Cafe Bar

The hotel¢s central bar has a northeastern orientation. There light here is always mellow. During the day the sun¢s beams are dispersed through the glass panes, at night star-shaped sconces and hanging light fixtures of hand-blown glass bring to life the green streaks of the Indian marble that lines the bar¢s open curve. Wood, mirrors, tones of brown and green, the view of illuminated Kavala beyond the dark sea is the perfect backdrop for enjoying an aged whiskey from the specialized cellar.
