Welcome
Our naval tradition began for us as fishermen in the bays of Holy Mount Athos, then continued with commerce and later on, in 1954, the first passenger wooden boat (capacity: 40 people) was built.
Since then till the year 2000, Photios Rodokalakis has become a shareholder in seven boats operating in the bays of the Holy Mount. His son takes over in the year 2000 and the boat "IOANNA", ideal for complete chartering and with 99 seats, gets fully rebuilt. In 2004, the ship "KAPETAN FOTIS" with 300 seats was built, while a third ship will be in service soon.
Our nautical experience, consistency, reliability and knowledge in boat tours beneath and around the Holy Mount's monasteries ranks us among the best. Thus, we invite you to come along with us and we guarantee you a safe and unforgettable trip.
Every cruise departs from Ouranoupolis and the monasteries' tour-guiding takes place in high proximity to the coast-line. It lasts about 3 hours and it is given in three languages: English, German and Greek. Twice a week it is given in Russian and once a week in Rumanian, in Polish, in Serbian and in Bulgarian.
Tickets
There are two ticket-locations in Ouranoupolis near the central square: The one, only 10 meters before reaching the central square, on your right, and the other one, 30 meters after leaving it behind, on your left.
You can also get your tickets from any of our associated agencies. In our fairly reasonable fare-prices, a 10% discount in Ouranoupoli's best restaurant is also included.
You can also book and exclusively reserve both ships for cruises, ranging from 5 to 300 persons!

Cruise schedule of the ship "Kapetan Fotis"
The 300 seats' ship departs once up to twice a day from Ouranoupolis port, right next to the "gates" of Holy Mount Athos, according to demand. Departure times are 10:30 and 13:45 (second cruise on the same day) and the cruise lasts ca. 3 hours.
The ship heads to the south-western part of the peninsula and in ca. 10 minutes, it reaches the sea-borders of the monastic state and its territory.
From there, it arrives in ca. 15 minutes in the area of the first Russian cloister and after sailing by unique beaches, it arrives in the area of the first monastery, Iera Moni Dochiariou, in ca. 40 minutes. Another 7 monasteries follow then, as well as the Holy Mount's central port, Daphni, and finally the cloisters, small villages, where groups of monks live in every house. The duration of the tour-guiding's last part is ca. 40 minutes. The ship returns sailing again by the last 4 monasteries and, having one and half hour spare time up to Ouranoupolis port, you can do your shopping on board, discuss your impressions or take photos of yourselves on the ship's bridge with the Captain.
